Prospective Lithium Zimbabwe has received thumbs up from the Government of Zimbabwe for walking the talk in delivering it’s promises in the last five(5) years. These include enhancing of sustainable mining practices, environment social government framework and it’s contributions to the national GDP.
As it stands, the mining giant is rated among the top three in Africa on the production of lithium deposits and this is will inevitably scale up going into the future interms of value addition and beneficiation.
These came to light during a official visit at the mine in Goromonzi by Appolonia Munzverengwi Minister of State and Devolution for Mashonaland East Province on Tuesday. The visit gripped the attention of media practitioners from across the devide.
Speaking to Journalists , Hon Munzverengi said Prospective Lithium Zimbabwe walked the talk by delivering it’s promises which were made in remark of the grand launch by His Excellency President Mnang wa.
“We have seen it for our self that PLZ is seriously engaged in it’s promises which were made during the commissioning of the Plant by His Excellency President Dr Emmerson Mnangagwa. When we came to this mine with there was nothing. When I mean nothing I am saying around that time PLZ had not yet put infrastructure which we are seeing today. Indeed there is a great difference.”
“I am sure you all journalists who are gathered here you also bear as a testimony to what we are seeing with our own eyes that this mine is now fully established ranging from it’s maximum adherence to social governments, local employment, the activities going on, the deposits from the production and many other activities which I have seen today,” she said.
According to Hon Munzverengwi, the coming of Prospective Lithium Zimbabwe to Mashonaland East will contribute a lot towards the GDP in the province after two other mining giants in Chivhu Manhize and Makaha in Mutoko.
“We didn’t know of this great mineral in our province but when became aware when PLZ came to Goromonzi. There was only one type of Lithium but recently they discovered other two types of Lithium. Indeed as Government we are truly grateful. The production at this mine will surely contribute towards National GDP after other two mining companies in our province , Manhize in Chivhu and Makaha in Mutoko,” she added.
Speaking to the Hon Minister, PLZ Assistant General Manager Rugare Dhobhie said the mining giant is determined to continue delivering it’s best in line with Zimbabwe’s national objectives in attaining Vision 2030.
“Hon Minister, as PLZ we rest assure you that we shall continue to align all our mining operations inline with Government policies towards attainment of Vision 2030.”
