The Queen of Peace Institute for Community Mental Health Innovations and Rehabilitation was conferred with the glamorous CADAV National Philanthropic award for its outstanding achievements in mental health and drug and substance abuse work in the Midlands Province.

The awards were held at Jameson Hotel in Harare on the 29th of July 2023.

The inaugural CADAV National Philanthropic awards, attended by at least 50 community based organisations across the country, recognizes grass root organisations that make a difference to the lives of others.

Queen of Peace founder and Executive Director Mrs Stella Khumalo Punungwe said, “This award is testimony to the great work that the Queen of Peace is doing in the Midlands Province. Being recognized by other organisations shows the amount of trust and confidence that others have in us. Our agenda is to continue making mental health, drugs and substance abuse a national priority. “

Queen of Peace Institute for Community Mental Health Innovations and Rehabilitation, (Formally Queen of Peace Rehabilitation and Crisis Centre) is a registered private voluntary organization (PVO 28/13) founded in January 2006.

Since its formation, Queen of Peace has set itself as the go to organization on mental health and drug and substance abuse in the Midlands province working closely with the Ministry of Health and Child Care, Department of Social Services and various other partners in the province.

The organization offers various services that include residential rehabilitation and crisis center, addiction treatment and rehabilitation, counselling, occupational, and vocational training services.
