Mvurwi based disc jockey Russell Chimota popularly known as “DJ Russy” in the arts industry is in his best form so far.
The popular DJ Russy is currently riding high at Tam – Tam pub and grill in Mvurwi.
Having started in 2004 when he was still at High School he has never looked back.
In an interview with this publication DJ Russy said he is aiming high and is wishing to be one of the biggest DJs in the country.
“I am happy with the pace so far and moving around the country on road shows playing music is an achievement and so far l am getting bookings on weddings, parties and other big events apart from Playing music to our legions of fans at Tam Tam grill,” he said.
The disc Jockey has worked with almost every artiste who came to Mvurwi these include Winky D, Freeman, Sniper , Gusspy Warrior , Master H , King Shaddy and many more who came through Shungers Entertainment sponsored by Shingirai Runganga.
“I am flexible to any artiste hence it becomes easy for me to work with many artistes in different genres of music,” he added.
He got his inspiration from DJ Smilley and MC Dee as he is also into producing music.
DJ Russy as DJs should have a national forum where they share skills and ideas.
“As DJs we should have a forum where we share ideas and skills because it is very difficult for DJs from outside Harare to be recognized,” he added.
The DJs is married, blessed with three children and he enjoys listening to music and making beats.
