South Africa gears itself to host various delegations from the Southern African Development Community (SADC) member States from the 2nd – 6th October in a conference that will focus on the evolution of oversight on public financial management and accountability in the SADC region.

The Conference taking place in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal will be hosted under the umbrella of the Southern African Development Community Organization of Public Accounts Committees (SADCOPAC) which serves as coordinating structure of Public Accounts Committees in the SADC region.

Individual public accounts committees play oversight on financial management, governance and accountability over governments in member states.

The 15th SADCOPAC Annual Conference is unique in that it will be held when the Organisation celebrates its twentieth anniversary.

As part of its week-long activities, Office Bearers of SADCOPAC led by the Chairperson Honourable Warren C Mwambazi and the General Secretary of the South African Association of Public Accounts Committee Honourable Sochayile Khanyile will host a media briefing to brief members of the media on the importance of the 15th SADCOPAC Annual Conference and outline critical discussions and topics that the conference will discuss.
