ZANU PF Coordinating Committee for Mazowe District has recorded success stories in advocating for environmental sustainability in areas of forest, mining and waste management.

Secretary for Environment and Tourism Mazowe District Coordinating Committee Cde Rodreck Nyikadzino spoke to this publication at the just ended ZANU PF rally held in Mashonaland Central Province.

The District falls under Cde Tafadzwa Musarara who is ZANU PF DCC Chairperson.

“We are mobilizing our artisanal miners to enhance sustainable mining practices so that their actions will not harm the environment.We have been engaging all miners in our district since the beginning of this year,” he said.

Nyikadzino also said they have been engaging all vendors in the District to adopt waste management practices inorder to keep the environment safe and clean.

“Mazowe District Coordinating Committee has also engaged vendors to engage in waste management practices so that we keep our environment clean.”

He also added that , party district leadership also launched a clampdown on illegal cutting down of trees in the Mazowe Dam area.

“We have stopped all illegal cutting down of trees around Mazowe Dam and sanity has been restored. This is inline with Vision 2030 in making sustainable forestry for the country.”
