The President of the Republic of Zimbabwe Emerson Mnangagwa has responded positively on the request made last week by the African Christian Council International(ACCI) to confer a hero status for the late Ezekiel Handinawangu Guti.

ACCI Grand President Johannes Nyamwa Ndanga last week wrote an official letter to President Mnangagwa to consider the request made by the Christian Community.

The President conferred a Hero status for the late Archbishop of ZAOGA, a move that is being celebrated by Christians from different denominations.

Speaking to Spotlight this Wednesday, Professor Ndanga expressed his profound gratitude to the President in granting the request made by Zimbabwean christians.

“I would like to express my profound gratitude to the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Dr Mnangagwa in granting our request to confer Baba Guti a Hero status. Indeed he has shown to us that he is a listening President,” he said.

The late Professor Guti is the first Christian leader to be declared a National Hero in Zimbabwe.
