Avonlea Primary School recently held its highly anticipated Prize Giving Day Ceremony, where students from Early Childhood to Grade 6 were recognized for their outstanding achievements in various fields. The event, which took place last Friday, was attended by proud parents, educators, and distinguished guests.
The ceremony honored students who excelled in academic excellence, sports, discipline, and arts. Mr. Alfred Marange, the Headmaster of Avonlea Primary School, commended the students, parents, and staff for their hard work and dedication despite the challenges faced during the year.
“We are proud of our students’ achievements, and we will continue to work tirelessly to provide a conducive learning environment that fosters academic excellence,” Mr. Marange said.
Ms. Marimo, a representative from the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, served as the Guest of Honour. She emphasized the importance of education in transforming learners’ lives worldwide.
“Education is the key to unlocking the potential of our learners. I congratulate all the prize winners and encourage them to continue striving for excellence,” Ms. Marimo said.
She also underscored the need for collective efforts in combating drug abuse and harmful practices that affect learners.
The Prize Giving Day Ceremony comes at a time when the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education has made it compulsory for learners across schools to write exams set by the government. This move aims to standardize education and ensure that learners meet the required standards.
Avonlea Primary School’s commitment to academic excellence and its efforts to provide a supportive learning environment have earned it a reputation as one of the top-performing schools in the region.
