HARARE, ZIMBABWE – June 19, 2024: Zimbabwe is set to uncover its hidden gems in the fashion industry with the launch of the SUPERMODEL competition. This nationwide search aims to discover talented models, fashion designers, makeup artists, photographers, and other creative professionals.
The competition kicks off on July 6th in Bulawayo, followed by live challenges and auditions in six cities across the country. The grand finale is scheduled for March 1st, 2025. The winners will receive international exposure, modeling contracts, and business training to sustain their careers.
SUPERMODEL aims to promote the Wear Zimbabwe campaign, supporting local fashion designers and the Zimbabwe Fashion Design Industry. The initiative also includes skill training programs, film, and photography, showcasing the country’s creative economy.
The organizers, Team Supermodel, believe that Zimbabwe has untapped talent and beauty, and this initiative will bring it to the forefront. They invite the nation to join the adventure and support the discovery of Zimbabwe’s next supermodels.
