The Pan-African Parliament plenary will convene this Monday in Midrand South Africa to endorse candidates presented by regional caucuses President, Senator Chief Fortune Charumbira (Southern Africa) 1st VP, Hon Professor Massouda Laghdaf (North Africa) 4th VP, Hon Djidda Mahamat (Central Africa).
The Meetings of the Pan African Parliament five Regional Caucuses nominated candidates for the positions of President and Vice Presidents of the Pan-African Parliament.
The regional caucuses are established by Rule 83 of the Rules of Procedure. They consist of all the Members from that region.
Functions of Regional Caucuses
1. Nomination for the election of the PAP President or Vice-Presidents.
2. Membership to Permanent Committees.
3. Participation in other parliamentary bodies or proceedings.
4. Perform any other function as assigned to it by the Bureau or the Permanent Committee on Rules, Privileges and Discipline or by resolution of Parliament.
