Former Senior Cabinet Minister, Dr Ignatius Chombo has denounced an X(formerly Tweeter) account trending in his name. Currently, the account (@Ignatius Chombo) is continuously updated with content that is inclined towards political and economic issues of Zimbabwe.
The content is packaged in such a way that X (Tweeter) users are meant to believe that Dr Chombo will be communicating his views to the world.
This publication caught up with Dr Chombo on Friday where he refused owning any X(Tweeter) Account in his personal capacity.
“I wish to state that I do not own any X account. I am not on Tweeter. That account is a fake account.”
Chombo’s lawyer, Professor Lovemore Madhuku issued a similar statement sometime last saying that his client does not own any X(Tweeter) Account.
“I am Dr Ignatius Chombo’s lawyer. I have to inform the world that my client, the said Dr Ignatius Chombo, a former Senior Minister in Zimbabwe, does not have, and has never had, a Twitter account or handle. The tweets attributed to him or purportedly in his name are FAKE.”
