The events unfolding in Russia and Ukraine War have seen the following taking place:
Five people were reported killed and more than 100 injured as a result of Russian drone and missile attacks on Ukraine.
The Ukrainian military’s commander-in-chief claimed air defences shot down all 10 of the Kinzhal hypersonic air-launched ballistic missiles fired at Ukraine by Russia.
Moscow claimed that air defences destroyed 17 Ukrainian Olkha rockets over Belgorod.
The governor of Russia’s Belgorod region said that one person was killed and five injured as a result of Ukrainian air raids.
An investigation was launched after a missile accidentally hit the Russian border town of Petropavlovka, damaging several homes.
Meanwhile, Latvia’s president calls for more Western support for Ukraine
Latvian President Edgars Rinkevics has called on the West to provide Ukraine with more help, calling Moscow’s recent missile attacks “the Russian terrorism”.
“The West must get serious and act now,” he said on X(Tweeter).
Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked him for his remarks on the same social media channel, saying “all efforts must be mobilized now to defend our common freedom and ensure that Russian terror fails”.
