The Christmas hampers were generously packed full of festive cheer. She said the company gave the groceries to senior citizens as a way of making them comfortable during the festive season.
Adding that the company value the elderly as they have worked very hard to raise wonderful families that translate into the village, community and nation at large.
Among the beneficiaries was gogo Achina Chidamba from Ward 13. She expressed satisfaction with what PLZ is doing in the community especially remembering the elderly this festive season.
90 year old Mr Oliver Maforomi said the world will be a better place if all companies can emulate PLZ’s corporate social responsibility.
Nedhi Simiti 83 said she will forever remember PLZ because the company brought a new dawn into the area especially their community projects.

Mid-year 2023 the company distributed 100 hampers to the elderly and child headed families.
Prospect Lithium Zimbabwe tree planting
PLZ has taken an initiative to plant trees along the road from Majuru shops to the mine in Goromonzi District. The move is aimed at promoting environmental conservation and mitigating the effects of climate change as well as traffic dust. The company has partnered with the forestry commission to ensure the success of this project.
Speaking at the tree planting event Guest of Honor Goromonzi DDC Ms Priscilla Dube who was represented commented PLZ for such a noble initiative. She said trees contribute to the environment by providing oxygen, improving air quality, climate amelioration, conserving water, preserving soil, mature, and supporting wildlife.
Ward 13 Councillor Mr Peter Million and Village Headman Mr Mighty Kabange called for every member of the village to stop rampant cutting trees and incorporate tree planting in their farming activities in order to mitigate the effects of climate change.
Goromonzi Forestry Commission representative Ms Charity Kasesu expressed satisfaction with the multi stakeholder mobilization of the project by PLZ saying this will ensure the survival and growth of the trees thus contributing to the overall goal of environmental conservation.
PLZ CSR Officer Shylet Dandi revealed that the company plans to plant more than 10 000 trees along the road and that the company will distribute more trees to households and schools.
The 10 000 trees will be planted in phases over three years.
Trees control climate by moderating the effects of the sun, rain and wind. Leaves absorb and filter the sun’s radiant energy, keeping things cool in summer. Trees also preserve warmth by providing a screen from harsh wind and dust. In addition to influencing wind speed and direction, they shield us from the downfall of rain, sleet and hail. Trees also lower the air temperature and reduce the heat intensity of the greenhouse effect by maintaining low levels of carbon dioxide.
