A Filabusi man lost his life on Wednesday night after he was allegedly struck with a hammer over a cigarette.
Talent Tshuma of Sidzibe Busness Centre died on the spot after he was struck by Lucky Dube (26) who is now on the run.
Confirming the incident, the Zimbabwe Republic Police said, ” The ZRP is investigating a case of murder in which Lucky Dube (26) allegedly struck Talent Tshuma (35) once on the head with a hammer after a misunderstanding over a cigarette at Sidzibe Business Centre, Filabusi on 27/04/22 at about 1800 hours.
Police have since launched a manhunt on the suspect, who fled from the scene after committing the offence.
Meanwhile cases of murder are on the rise especially in Matebeleland region following the death of another man in Madlambudzi, Plumtree after he was struck with a knobkerrie over an issue of a girl friend.
Dalubuhle Nleya of Sindisa village in Madlambudzi under Chief Masendu is also on the run after he killed Dumisani Moyo earlier this week at a drinking spree.
Police sources said a misunderstanding arose over the issue of a girl friend leading to the unfortunate incident.
