Interreligious Association for Peace and Development Zimbabwe(IAPDZ) Chairman and renowned faith leader Bishop Dr Albert Chikuni has encouraged the nation at large to uphold peace before, during and after the elections to be held on 23 August 2023.

IAPDZ is one of the biggest religious organization in the country and has been prominent for disseminating the message of peace, tranquility and tolerant across 10 provinces of the country.

In an interview with Spotlight Global News in Harare, Bishop Dr Chikuni urged all political parties, including political activists to observe peace and tolerance as the nation enters the much awaited elections.

“The first thing I want to address is that we are all Zimbabweans whose country is known for existence of peace, therefore I don’t see any reason why people should kill each other because of elections.”

“Let it be known that God himself doesn’t like people who are always at loggerheads on each other. God loves peace and he shown this to us through his only begotten son, Jesus Christ whom the Prophet Isaiah referred to as the ‘Prince of Peace”.
