Kabhida has opened up about why he left Vigilance Music, a band led by Winky D, in a surprising turn of events that left his career hanging in the balance. He laments that his career, which was once earmarked for great success in the entertainment scene, is now broken after a falling out with Vigilance Music.

Speaking in an interview, the rising dancehall star said he had great hopes for success, particularly in associating his name with the most celebrated musician in the country. “When I joined Vigilance Music, I had high expectations to grow my name and learn a lot under Winky D, but unfortunately, things didn’t go as I expected,” he said.

Being excluded from major events and lacking strong collaboration are some of the main reasons why the rising dancehall chanter left Vigilance Music. “I remember that at one point, there was a big show slated for the end of the year at the Harare Sheraton, and my name was not on the flyers. I had to ask, and the answer I got was that the show was in the hands of the promoter of the gig.”

It was at this point that Kabhida wanted to make a name for himself by simply featuring on stage with a big name in the entertainment industry. Moreover, his only hope was to perform live at a time when social media did not have much influence in marketing careers. “All I wanted was to perform in front of a wider audience so that I could become more familiar with music fans, especially during a time when social media like Facebook wasn’t a thing to market a rising artist.”

The artist also laments being left out of several projects, which he perceived as either neglect or rejection by Vigilance Music. Making matters worse, the artist released a track that was perceived by fans as a diss song(reply to Seh Calaz dissing Winky D) , which had a negative effect on the career of the rising artist.
