Tourism stakeholders today 14th October 2022 attended the Tourism Investments Conference held at ZITF Grounds in Bulawayo.

The symposium comes at the back of ongoing Sanganai/Hlanganani World Tourism Expo.

The Tourism Investments Conference provided an opportunity for local authorities to communicate the potential areas of investments for the Tourism Sector in their respective areas.

Representatives from Government Ministries, Departments, Agencies and local authorities made presentations before tourism players and stakeholders in general.

Catherine Masunda Executive Director for Youth2Youth in Zimbabwe commended the importance of the investments conference as it brought government ministries, players and local authorities in communicating the available investment opportunities at local levels. She also urged for the need to consider youths in the investment plans.

“The investment forum is positive because the provincial were represented including councils and RDC highlighting what is there in their area. For youth we should tape into this opportunities see how we can partner with our local authorities. We need to target to invest in youth reason they are the most traveld and we want to create employment for young people through Tourism. Tourism is a Trillion dollar business and lot of opportunities in the sector. We need the authorities to embrace young people in these investment opportunities and create an environment that enables them to develop tourism businesses.”

The Tourism Investments Conference has been held as a side event for the ongoing Sanganai-Hlanganani World Tourism Expo. The main event is expected to be officially launched on Friday afternoon.
