The Zimbabwe Republic Police is yet to arrest a close aid of Kazembe Kazembe in Mashonaland Central Province who assaulted Simbarashe Sithole, a freelance journalist with Bulawayo 24 and Newsday.

Kazembe Kazembe is the Minister responsible for Home Affairs and National Heritage and he is under media spotlight for threatening the investigative journalist for unearthing corruption issues in Mash-Central.

Kazembe’s loyalist Isheunesu popularly known as  “Chief Saunyama” Dzimbiti was yesterday reported to the police in Mvurwi for assaulting the journalist. Isheunesu launched a direct assault on the account that Simba Sithole was writing bad about Kazembe Kazembe.

Meanwhile, the police is yet to arrest the imbiber and the case number Mvurwi Cr 39/06/22 has since been referred to Bindura.

The truth of the matter follows a direct threat issued by the Minister against the journalist claiming that he was writing news materials unfavourable to him.

Soon after the threats which has been revealed on social media, Kazembe’s loyalist spend the whole night phoning the journalist promising unfortunate atrocities.

Amid all this, Simba Sithole is on record for unearthing corruption by government officials in Mashonaland Central Province.

Some of his work include his famous headline with the Newsday on the involvement of former State Security Minister Owen Mudha Ncube in orchestrating machete wars in Mazoe.
